Susan P. McGalla was born in East Liverpool, Ohio. She was the ex-CEO of West Seal. McGalla serves as a board member of HFF and Magee-Women’s Hospital. She started her first job at Joseph Horne Company in 1986. Other positions McGalla held at American Eagle Outfitters were divisional merchandise buyer of women’s apparel, manager, and chief merchandising officer(CMO). She was an independent retail industry consultant for two years.

As an undergraduate student at Mount Union College, McGalla studied business and marketing. Also, she is on the Board of Advisors at Mount Union College. Stephen McGalla is the husband of Susan McGalla. Ms. McGalla has been a speaker at the Women and Girl’s Foundation of Pittsburgh and at Carnegie Mellon.

She said her success was not based on the ability to use the woman card to get to where she was, but to simply look at the corporate world as being made up of people and not different genders. McGalla says it was because her parents put the same expectations on her that they put on her two older brothers to work hard even while she was young.
